Hope. Dignity. Opportunity

RESTORING HOPE TO WOMEN & GIRLS

Christ’s Daughters Foundation (CDF) is a registered nonprofit organization in Mwanza, Tanzania, dedicated to restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity to vulnerable women and girls. Through safe shelter, education, healthcare, counseling, skills development, and economic empowerment, we help women and girls rebuild their lives and pursue a brighter future.

Why Christ's Daughters?

The name Christ’s Daughters was born from a moment that changed the heart of our founder, Carol Evelyn Nzogere.

One night in Mwanza, Carol saw young women and girls involved in street prostitution. In the community, they were commonly labeled “Changudoa,” often shortened to “CD”—a name associated with stigma, rejection, and shame.

As Carol looked at them, a conviction came to her heart: If Jesus were physically walking these streets, He would not call them “Changudoa.” He would call them His daughters—Christ’s Daughters.

That moment gave “CD” a new meaning: from Changudoa to Christ’s Daughters. A label of rejection became a declaration of dignity, belonging, and hope.

CDF was founded on this conviction: women and girls whom society may reject, label, or overlook still have dignity, value, and a future.

Today, Christ’s Daughters Foundation welcomes girls from all backgrounds—Christian, Muslim, or no religious affiliation. Our Christian identity inspires us to serve every girl with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of her faith or background.

“Society called them ‘CD’—Changudoa. We chose another meaning: Christ’s Daughters. Where others saw a label, we saw daughters worthy of dignity, love, and a future.”
